GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Central's defense allowed just nine points in their win over No. 9 Fruita Monument on Friday.

The Warriors recorded four sacks and two forced fumbles.

"In our own eyes they were the No. 4 team," said senior Shaun Stepisnik. "I think it showed us and proved to ourselves that we can with anybody if we work ahrd enough do our jobs on the field."

It was a big improvement after giving up 21 points to Montrose the previous week.

"In my four years here we've really been a defensive-based team," said senior Anthony Zubiate. "So we've really always expected our defense to play at a high caliber. Then we just got to compliment our offense. When they do good or do bad, we just got to do our thing against them> I think we really did that against Fruita."

Central will take on Grand Junction at 7 P.M. on Friday at Stocker Stadium.
