GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Bob and Adele Suydam have been Grand Junction Rockies fans since the beginning.
"We have been season ticket holders since day one," said Adele.
The two have been married for 58 years. Every Rockies game they sit in the same spot.
"I think when you're married to an avid sports fan, you become one," said Adele.
Tim Ray, Rockies' former General Manager, sold the tickets to the Suydams when the team moved to Grand Junction in 2012.
"Ever since I called in he said, 'you're number one.' So over the six years the Rockies have been here he always refers to me as number one," said Bob.
The Suydams have seen everything from playoff appearances to Grand Junction's first Northwest vs. Pioneer League All-Star Game.
They've also seen big league players such as Jon Gray and David Dahl. Bob says that's his favorite part of following a Rookie-ball team.
"Watching a guy come from high school or college as just a raw piece of material and then seeing him standing on the plate at Coors Field," said Bob.
The Suydams also have stats of every game.
"I keep score of every game," said Bob. "It's something I've done all my life. I guess my dad or my granddad taught me to do it. It's part of the game with me."
The pair of seats behind home plate that won't be available any time soon either.
"We haven't put them in our will," said Bob. "So I guess we're going to keep them until we can't do it anymore."
