HS Softball: Central leans on experience

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Central softball is the favorite to win the Southwestern League again.

The Warriors have outscored their league opponents 29-3 in two games this season.

Central has won league four years in a row losing just one league game in that span.

Despite their league success the Warriors have been eliminated from either the regional round or state tournament over the last few seasons.

"All of us seniors have been together for a long time," said senior Ashleigh Satterfield. "So I know that we want to have a big year and go far."

The Warriors have seven seniors on the roster. Central hopes that experience will help them win a state title.

"We always, of course, want to be winners," said senior Kelty Key "We always want to win. But I feel like the pressure is the same as it's always. Last year the goal is we just want to win a game. This year we want to win all four games."

Central will take on Montrose on the road at 7 P.M.on September 18.
