FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Wildcats will be well represented at the next level. Three athletes in three different sports have signed letters of intent to play their respective sport in college.
Marcus Lee will play baseball at Colorado School of Mines. In his junior season with Fruita, he threw 20 strikeouts for Fruita Monument.
Lacrosse player Nate Lyons will stay close to home as he signed with Colorado Mesa University.
Tyler Speer signed to play soccer in Washington as he will join Seattle Pacific University.
All three athletes work hard on the field and in the classroom and that was a major deciding factor in selecting the university they wanted to play for.
"If baseball doesn't work out in the future, I always have academics to fall back on and that school has set me up well for it," Marcus Lee said. "Their baseball program is doing really well right now and I really want to be a part of that."
