FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Fruita Monument high school will be the place to be Thursday through Saturday for the Family Health West Wildcat Classic.
Some of the great basketball programs of Eastern Utah and the Grand Valley will compete in the three day basketball tournament.
For the local teams, they will meet later on in the conference season. This tournament is a good chance to see where each team is at and area's to work on before heading into league play.
The tournament is also good for the community to get out and see some good competitive local basketball.
"It's kind of the first time everyone gets to see the local teams play," said Fruita head coach Michael Wells. "I just like the tournament environment with everybody in the gym cheering on the other teams and watching a lot of holiday basketball. It's just an early season test. Carbon is probably one of the better 3A teams in the state of Utah. It's just a chance to get better early on."
