GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) On Monday, CMU women's basketball senior Jaylyn Duran snagged the RMAC Player of the Week. One day later, another award. This one with national recognition.
The senior was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's Division II National Player of the Week for last week.
The USBWA has been selecting players since the 2014-15 season and Duran is the first Maverick to receive the honor.
In the two wins over the weekend, Duran shot 46.7% from the field. She scored a career high on Saturday with 30 points only to break that in the next game with 32 points in the win over Chadron State.
CMU will be back in Brownson Arena January 4-5.
