ASPEN, Colo. (KJCT/KKCO)-- Superpipe, snow bikes, slopestyle, and more! These are just a few of the events that you can see this weekend in Aspen as the world's best action sports athletes will hit the powder for the X Games. The four-day event will have something for every snow sports fan.
"Buttermilk is such a unique mountain where you can come to this free event and literally just stand here and see all of the competition courses," said Vanessa Anthes, the Associate Director of Event Operations. "You can see big air, pipe, slope and then to the west we have got our snowmobile venues."
This will be the 18th year for the X Games in Aspen, and this go around there will be no shortage of activities for the fans.
"We have great partners with our sponsors on site to have lots of interactive elements," said Anthes. "From coming and riding the X-trial course throughout the weekend where you can win up to a $1,000 prize at the end of the weekend for the best time, to an escape room that the real cost is hosting."
And the athlete's want you to be here making it a thrilling experience for the athletes and fans alike.
"We really value our fans because they bring the energy here on site and our athletes feed off that energy," Anthes said. "They know that when they come to X Games, they are going to come to a house where they are going to have fans that have been waiting for hours."
