CMU Men's Basketball: Depth key to success in second half

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) After splitting the last two weekend series, the Mavericks are glad to be home this weekend. They will host two Utah teams, Dixie State and Westminster.

With four losses in conference play, the Mavericks have little room for error if they want to get a conference championship. At the halfway point in the season, teams can get worn down with the difficult schedule.

Jess Spivey came off the bench last Friday and led the team in scoring and it's very important for the bench to come up big and provide depth.

"We have three elite shooters in our program," said head coach Mike DeGeorge. "Kolton Peterson is the most versatile of those and he's injured right now so our shooting been limited. It's very important for Sam and Jess to make shots."
