GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Central will be taking 11 wrestlers to the state tournament this weekend and they have prepared to take the big stage all season.
Over the season, the Warriors have wrestled in some of the best tournaments in the state to prepare for the Pepsi Center. In fact, some wrestlers will see familiar opponents in Denver this weekend.
Dre Martinez is working back from an injury but the way he's wrestled this year, it looks like he is ready for his final state title run as a senior.
The team is ready to wrestle with thousands of eyes watching this weekend.
"We've gone to some big duals over in Utah, the Warrior Classic of course and then Top of the Rockies which is one of the premier tournaments in the western United States," said head coach Laurence Gurule.
"It's exciting. It's more of an adrenaline booster than nervous for me anyways," said senior Dre Martinez. "I go out there and it's just like, alright lets go and get work done."
