CMU Women's Lacrosse: Team growing with first year coach

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The 21st ranked women's lacrosse team will host Westminster Friday evening. CMU is 1-0 after beating CSU-Pueblo nearly two weeks ago.

The team has taken well to new head coach Shanta Loecker's coaching style and even the seniors have had to adjust to a new system. The RMAC Defender of the Week said the team continues to see growth from within.

"I think overall we are improving every single day as a unit, as a whole team," said senior Erin Koehler. "Like coach Shanta just said, communication is key and that's really what we are working on right now. Building our team chemistry and just growing as a unit every day. I think right now we are focusing on ourselves and improving our team as a unit and not necessarily worried so much about our opponents. As long as we execute and do everything that is our game plan for our team, we will come out on top."
