CMU Men's Basketball: Nichols named to South Regional team

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The CMU men's basketball team made a jump from last year with first year head coach Mike DeGeorge and the senior leadership helped drive the team to a 19 win season.

The team's top scorer, senior Connor Nichols, had his best season this year and left his mark in the history books in his final go round with the Mavericks. Nichols was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Region team.

He made the second team after averaging 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this season. He scored 600 points this season on the dot and had a career-high 37 points in a win over Black Hills State on January 5. The Scottsdale, Arizona native ranks fourth all time in points and sixth in rebounds as a Maverick.
