GJ Rockies: Seven run fourth inning for Ogden leads to fifth straight loss

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) A quick 1-0 lead in the first inning for the GJ Rockies turned into a 14-2 blowout loss on Thursday night.

All-Star infielder Christian Koss got the Rockies on the board in the bottom of the first on a RBI double to left field makes it 1-0 Rockies.

Ogden would go on to score 11 unanswered runs including a seven-run fourth inning. Mitchell Kilkenny had his worst outing of the season tagging him with his third loss this year: 3.1 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 2 BB, 3 K

Brenton Doyle grounded into a double play with the bases loaded that scored the Rockies second and final run of the game in the sixth inning.

Ogden's Sauryn Lao hit the second of his two home runs in the game in the seventh inning to give the Raptors a 13-2 lead. They add another run in the eighth to close it out.

The Raptors had 14 runs on 17 hits. GJ committed four errors in the game that increases their losing streak to five games. The Rockies are 4-13 in the month of August. Game three of the series is Friday night at 6:40 P.M.
