GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Palisade secured their fourth straight Western Slope League title with a 42-6 win over Summit on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs got on the board quickly with a double reverse play to Logan Harris to give Palisade a 7-0 lead. After another punt from Summit, Palisade scored on the very next play with a 55 yard touchdown pass from Cam Tucker to Caden Sparks.
The defense came up big on their next two drives. Carl Cox ripped the ball away from the Tigers to give Palisade great field position. Sparks would run into the endzone on offense to give the Bulldogs a 21-0 lead with six minutes remaining in the first quarter. Summit tried to get something going on offense when Brandon Goff tipped a pass and it was picked off by Cox.
Cam Tucker would take an option play in for a touchdown. After a quarter of play, it was 28-0 Palisade.
The Bulldogs finish the regular season 7-3 and now await their seeding for the 3A State Playoffs.
