GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) After trailing 31-20 at halftime, the CMU put together a strong performance in the second half to get the comeback win over Montana Western 61-55.
The Mavericks shot poorly in the first half and found themselves in a tough spot at home in Brownson Arena. In the second half, the intensity was ramped up and the Mavs outscored the Bulldogs 41-24. CMU went on a 19-4 run in the final seven minutes of play. After taking a 57-55 lead, they hit free throws to complete the comeback.
CMU will begin RMAC play on the road against UCCS and Colorado School of Mines on December 6-7, respectively.
