GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Erin Koehler has been named Athlete of the Week.
The New York native was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
"No, I really don't pay attention to it. As a defender, it's not like I'm scoring goals so I'm not used to looking at the stats after games. Now people tell me, I'm aware." Says Erin.
Koehler reached her 100th ground ball standing at 105 and growing. She also leads the nation in caused turnovers and ground balls per game. Don't be surprised if she lands a spot on the all-midwest region team...again.
She's even made the RMAC honor roll. In her four years as a leader of the Mavericks, Koehler has found the formula to a successful season.
"As a senior, a captain and a leader on the team, my biggest role is I push everyone every single day. Me working hard shows everyone they need to be working hard every day. says Erin.
