In his first season with the Mavericks, Junior Georgie Dancer, is creating some buzz with CMU.

"It's going pretty well for me. Coach is putting me in good positions to take the opportunities I have to score. He's giving me a lot of good feedback in film. Having a guy like Tommy (Nuno) on the court also, just learning little things from him that can elevate my game. I still have got a long way to go."

Dancer, like Nuno, is a Fresno Community College transfer. He leads the team in scoring and although it might look easy on the court, it hasn't always been that way learning a new offense.

"It's been a challenge for him. He's never played in a ball screen system before. He's been super coachable and obviously he's a talent on the offensive end. Defensively, he's not getting enough credit. He can guard anybody in our league off the dribble and he's bigger and longer than they are. He just has a really great motor defensively too and he's tough. He's got all the attributes to be an elite defender in our league," says Head Coach, Mike DeGeorge

In the first three games of conference play, Dancer scored over 20 points in each game and has been able to pick and choose the right times to attack the basket.

"Just trusting my guys and we are going to make the right play. you know a certain guy is going to cut, you know a certain guy is going to shoot the ball when he should shoot it. Playing with that fluidity just makes our offense run great," says Georgie Dancer.
