CMU Women's Wrestling falls in first dual.

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Maverick's first ever women's wrestling kicked off their season against Wayland Baptist University.

They fell short, but prepare for the upcoming season. The first women's team are thrilled to be a part of something great. They continue to follow their passion and strive for excellence.

New coach, Travis Mercado, says he wants to focus on the process rather than the outcome. His team says they have always have a positive mindset at practice.

The next dual will be November 17, at the Missouri Valley Open.
