Tremaine Jackson has been named the new Head Football Coach.

Jackson recently worked as the defensive line coach at Div. I, Texas State University. He spent the 2017-2018 seasons as the Defensive Coordinator at Abilene Christian where he made a turnaround season snagging their first winning season in history. The Houston native also spent time as the Assistant Head Coach at the University of Sioux Falls in 2014 where he helped lead the team to a 32-5 combined record and a Conference Championship. His unit at Sioux Falls was ranked fifth in the national poll and 11 of his players received All-Conference honors.

"My family and I are very excited to join the Maverick family... I look forward to getting into the community and working with the players to get the ship headed in the right direction," says Jackson.

Jackson hit the field himself on the defensive line at Texas Southern for two years after transferring from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. He also held NFL internships with both the Houston Texans and San Deigo Chargers.

Press Conference to follow.
