About Us

Mesa County Partnership for Children and Families believes that strong families and children create a valued, healthy, and thriving community. In addition, every family needs support at home, work and throughout the community to create a supportive environment. As a parent, grandparent, guardian or other family member of a young child, you are a critical teacher and resource.

In 1997, the Colorado General Assembly created Consolidated Child Care Pilots in twelve communities in the state. In 1999, the Legislature expanded this number to 17 Pilots covering 30 counties. The Pilots were initially intended to create a "seamless delivery system of early care and education services" to:

  • Enhance child care quality
  • Respond to the needs of working parents
  • Ensure collaboration among stakeholders
  • Consolidate funding sources to create an early childhood system

Services and goals are customized per domain annually. Each year, the Partnership for Children and Families focuses on three top priorities per domain to achieve based on community needs.

In addition, we support two specific projects focused solely upon supporting child care providers in their work with young children. While a majority of our projects support systems building in our local community, we also provide direct service to the early childhood community with the School Readiness and Expanding Quality Infant Toddler programs.
