GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - No obvious signs of foul play, but no reason yet as to why a man was found dead, facedown on the ground early Wednesday morning.
Police Department Detectives are still working on the case, but say they don’t believe the man was assaulted before he was found near 2nd Street between Chipeta and Ouray Avenues.
Investigators canvassed the neighborhood, asking people if they saw anything in the hours leading up to the discovery of the man’s body.
At the scene, police found some of his belongings scattered 50 around his body, but the Mesa County Coroner says the man was not homeless.
The Coroner is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death. There’s no other information on his age or identity at this time, though the Coroner says his next of kin have been notified.
