District 51's bus tracking app set to launch in October

MESA COUNTY, Colo. If you've been wondering about the ‘Safe Stop’ app that District 51 is looking to implement into their new fleet of 140 school buses, the app is not yet up and running.

The app is intended to allow parents to track their child's bus in real-time.

The District says each bus is fully loaded with the GPS component of the app right now, they are just waiting for the app company to update the system for our location, as it is in other cities across the country.

“Their app company is designing it and needs time to input our local addresses, and then when they have that, it will launch,” Emily Shockley explained, with District 51.

Once all stops and locations are entered into the app program, parents will be able to track their child's arrival time at each bus stop.

District 51 says they expect the app to be up and running for parents, sometime in October.
