LOMA, Colo. The Lower Valley Fire Protection District responded to calls about a structure fire around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night off of 15 Road in Loma.
When crews arrived on scene, the entire structure, the size of a house, was engulfed in flames. Fire Chief Frank Cavalier says the structure was entirely metal and used as a workshop.
The fire also engulfed a trailer next to the workshop, as well as a boat behind the workshop. All three structures were total losses.
Fire crews had trouble putting out the fire because a hydrant in the area could not produce enough water. They called in water tenders to assist and were able to completely put out the fire in approximately 45 minutes.
Crews were able to save one of the trailers next to the structure as well as a house on the property. There are no injuries to report.
