Grand Junction Police arrested 43-year-old Clinton Grant Clarke. He's in the Mesa County Jail, facing charges of first degree assault with intent to cause serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon, and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.
A second man who was also questioned, has not been charged.
Police believe the victim, who has not been identified, mistakenely got in to the back of Clarke's pick up truck. When he got out of the truck, he was holding his stomach area.
Grand Junction Police were called to Fantasy Gentleman's Club on Colex Drive off G Road about 1:40 a.m. Wednesday for a stabbing.
Police say a club employee called 911 after a man came inside the club with stab wounds to his stomach and chest. The stabbing victim's name and condition have not been released.
Police believe the man had been inside the club, and went outside where he was stabbed, then came back inside. Police are still investigating what happened while the man was outside.
Two people were in custody as "persons of interest." Officers say they stopped a pickup that matched the description of a truck seen leaving the parking lot at about the time of the stabbing. One person inside that truck was detained for questioning. Police say a second person came to the police department voluntarily and will also be questioned.
The man who was stabbed is being treated at St. Mary's hospital.
