Man convicted of animal cruelty, felony menacing gets 12 years

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Twelve years in prison is the sentence for a Grand Junction man convicted of animal cruelty and other felony charges.

Roger Pitcher will spend 12 years in prison and must pay fines. He was sentenced Monday for a March incident where he went to the home of an acquaintance and was seen kicking and throwing a small white dog in the front yard.

When a neighbor confronted him, Pitcher threatened to kill him.

Pitcher was also convicted on felony menacing charges.
