GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- Garfield County Deputies have arrested a 61-year-old man who held deputies at bay for about three hours after firing shots at a deputy who came to check on him.
Craig Dance was arrested on Monday after authorities contacted him by phone and convinced him to surrender.
Authorities say charges against the man would be announced on Tuesday. No reason for the standoff was given and no injuries were reported.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KKCO) - UPDATE: The suspect is in custody without incident.
An officer-involved shooting took place earlier this evening in a subdivision outside Glenwood Springs.
At approximately 4:10 P.M., a Garfield County Sheriff's Deputy was responding to a welfare check at a house on West Bank Road in the West Bank subdivision.
This led to an officer-involved shooting.
The suspect then barricaded himself within the house.
All residents were asked to stay in their homes and secure windows and doors.
An Everbridge Emergency message was sent to residents in the area by the Garfield County Emergency Communications Center.
