GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Super Rad High School Art Show is back at Mesa Mall from April 11th to 18th. This is the show's 10th anniversary, and also the first year they have the Stuff-the-Car campaign.
More than 200 high school students from around the valley have the opportunity to display their artwork. Organizers encourage the public to help fill the car with donated art supplies. Kids can also draw on the car with different colored chalk. There's a deeper meaning around the fun event.
“Bottom line, it's about raising art awareness for the students in the valley. Giving them a place to come and show their work – often in a young artist – that’s their first step – is being able to show their art publicly,” said Jason Bradham, Co-Founder of Super Rad Art Jam.
At the end of the exhibit, students who win first place will receive handmade trophies for the "People's Choice" and "Best in Show" categories. You can vote for your favorite when you stop by the art show this week – it's located by the Sears wing at Mesa Mall. The award ceremony will be next Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
